Back to School… and another little milestone to remember
Wow! The summer holidays flew by, and somehow the start of another school year has arrived.
Chances are you dashed around in those final days checking the school uniform, buying new shoes and replenishing the pencil case. Before you knew it, you were standing at the front door on that first morning, trying to get that photograph before they headed off to school.
You know the one…
Shiny new shoes. A pristine uniform that’s slightly too big because they need room to “grow into it” – we’ve all done it!
A slightly nervous, excited smile as off they went for another year of learning, growing and becoming just a little bit more independent.
Every school year is a milestone. Whether they’ve started school for the very first time, moved up to the next class, or changed schools it’s another chapter in their childhood.
And, of course, there will undoubtedly be the annual school photograph to look forward to!
It’s a lovely tradition, but with so many children to photograph in such a short space of time, there isn’t much opportunity to capture your child as you know them. There may be a wonky tie, scruffy hair, and an awkward expression that makes you wonder who on earth that child is!
So this year, we thought we’d offer something a little different.
With more time… less rushing...
Our Back to School Mini Sessions are designed to capture your child in their school uniform, but in a relaxed studio environment where they have time to settle in, have a bit of fun and, most importantly, be themselves.
We’ll make sure their tie is straight, their hair is tidy (yes, you can bring the comb! ) and then let them relax in front of the camera.
The result is a collection of beautiful portraits capturing their personality, their smile and that particular stage of childhood that, before you know it, will have changed again.
Because one day, you'll look back at that slightly oversized uniform and realise just how quickly they grew. It really won’t be long before that new uniform is no longer new… and they’ve grown out of those shoes too!

Back to School Mini Sessions are short and sweet – around 15 minutes, followed immediately by a visit to our dedicated viewing room where you can see and choose your images.
