Being mediocre is not in Hoss’ vocabulary. He is always seeking out new and innovative ideas, through art, media, television – anywhere that inspires him to create the best images for himself and his clients.  And he ‘tests’ this innovation by constantly entering competitions of the highest level.  By winning awards that are being judged by some of the world’s other leading photographers, he ensures that he remains at the forefront of his profession, whilst also giving clear affirmation to his clients that they’ll receive outstanding results.

Hoss won the Singles category at the London Portrait Group last night held at the Pin Wei Restaurant in Abbots Langley. The competition was fierce, and judge Ray Lowe FBIPP FMPA was amazing as usual, giving constructive comments for all, and lots of tips and advice.  Well done to all who entered last night. This is the image that won it for me.

2010 Masters Cup International Colour Awards – Nominated

Hoss has received international recognition for his work by being nominated for a prestigious award by the Masters Cup International Color Awards, for his contemporary family portrait in the Fine Art category.   Hoss said "I'm delighted to have been nominated in what is a global competition.  I was nominated for my creative approach to family portraits.  I'm passionate about my work and for me the ultimate pleasure is taking portraits of people, that they will treasure."

Hoss Has won the Regional Master Photographer of the Year for the second year running.

The 15th of June 2010 was a worrying day for Hoss, as he was anticipating the results of the Central Region Master Photographer of the Year Award. "The images are the best I've seen in any region I've judged, and the competition is quite close, business, own, " said the judge Robert Shack who has been a photographer since he was seventeen, working with his father Victor Shack in the business. Robert runs a busy photographic studio in Harrow.

In the end, it was a close call, with Hoss winning the award by just one point. "Wow! That was the closest competition I've ever had. The images were very strong, and the competition could have gone either way" says Hoss. "We're now running a promotion to celebrate the achievement."
